Love the art style, but I have a critique: I keep hitting the spikes because they don't stand out. Like, I can see them, but they don't scream "hazard" because they look like they are fading into the background like scenery. I am also red-green colorblind, and it took me 3 deaths to realize that the tree enemy was what was hurting me. Here are some pictures I made to show how it looks when I make everything more readable for me. This is just a friendly suggestion - I don't want to come across as some entitled jerk who is demanding that you change it for their benefit.
I will be reviewing the solution to the problem and checking if I still have it in Unity. The truth is, I’m currently working on other games, but if needed, I can explain how the tree works.
The tree appears and disappears while showing its eyes. Once the eyes are active, it can attack, but when they are not, it cannot be attacked. I apologize for the colorblindness issue, but unfortunately, I don’t have control over that.
As for the spikes, I will look for a color that is generally visible to colorblind individuals. However, to be honest, I’m not sure if I will be able to find the game. I originally created and uploaded it to my Google Drive, so I need to check which account it’s on, download it, and see how I can fix it.
I hope it’s not an issue if I’m unable to fix it since I’m currently focused on new projects.
Oh no big deal at all, just thought I'd mention it. Ever since I first saw a "colorblind assist" option in a game I've wanted to start a team of people with different levels of colorblindness and consult with game makers on that feature, because the colorblind assists are almost always useless. But that's really just a me problem, and I don't know to what extent it would actually be worth a game maker's time to include that feature. -\('_')/-🤷♂️
I have this ChatGPT, and for that, we need to talk to people like you to understand what colors you see and discuss with the art designers so they can create the player, enemies, and even the levels in a color you can see and play comfortably. It is possible to do, but I don’t currently have that artwork with me. However, I will try to download the game to see if I can change it to blue because I researched last night, and it says that colorblind people can see that color.
